Shutter Speed Assignment

I wasn't sure if we were supposed to capture the same object/person but I chose two different subjects. The picture on the top shows a slower shutter speed with blurred movement (1/60, f11), while the picture on the bottom is a slightly faster shutter speed (1/125, f4.5).

  1. I love how you captured the soccer players in action, a hard thing to do since they run so fast! It really shows what one can capture by using a high shutter speed. I love that you chose to do a lower shutter speed on the top photo because it communicates the movement of the cartwheel beautifully.

  2. While I think that you fulfilled the assignment beautifully, I was also drawn in by your choice to take the cartwheel picture in black and white. I think that it gives the picture an almost "old-time" feel, as though you've taken us back into someone's childhood where they had all the time they wanted to cartwheel across the grass. Also, nice capture with the soccer players; it is obvious that they are in motion yet they are crisp.

  3. Love how the Denison soccer player is in focus and the opponent team is blurred! Also liking the way the grass looks-haha I know weird right, but true.
